Precision Saw Sled Plans
Precision Saw Sled Plans
A miter gauge pushes the board past the blade, creating drag between the board and the table. This drag – especially on a long board – that makes it so hard to be accurate when making a crosscut or a miter. A saw sled eliminates the effects of this drag by carrying the board past the blade. So if you have a table saw, you may want to trade you miter gauge for a sled.
And not only are sleds more accurate than a miter gauge; they are much more versatile. There are hundreds of designs for sleds, all with different advantages and capabilities. So rather than show you how to build a single sled, author/craftsman Nick Engler shows what the features you might pack into a sled, so you can design one that works for you. 20 pages in PDF format, step-by-step instructions, and detailed plans and drawings in both English/Imperial and metric measurements.
