Nesting Christmas Trees

If you own a scroll saw or a band saw, you probably know this cool trick: Cut out a shape – any shape – from the center of a board with the table tilted ever so slightly. If you have the table angle set correctly, the shape will “nest” neatly in the cut-out. Saw multiple shapes, each a little bigger than the one previous, and they will all nest neatly inside one another. That’s how author/craftsman Nick Engler made these nesting trees. But then he used another trick – this one a little less well-known – to add some festive lights.
